- A visual poem -
Year 2023. The world is changing. Utopias have gained a new foothold in the world, and the most significant question for humanity is whether we should stop the progress of utopias.
Year 2023. Hundreds of similar people work in a factory. They have been reconditioned to work for the greater good. Everything is geared towards mass production. They are a part of the mass amidst all the mass.
Year 2023. Humans artificially grow another human inside themselves, optimizing their own interests and the outcome of upbringing. In the factory, there is a carefully considered place for each new individual.
Year 2023. The new human lives in the system and is happy. They eat, drink, sleep, play, reproduce, and, of course, work. Meanwhile, the last wild human escapes in the forest.
“She’s beautiful; I can’t get over that thought, even though I know it’s old-fashioned to think about an individual and their external features. But her features are special compared to others. Sometimes I find myself forgetting to look at her because her beauty extends beyond just physical traits. A perfect breeding ground for new life, but I feel like she still craves something old…”
This work is inspired by Aldous Huxley’s classic novel, “Brave New World.”
